When Sierra was a baby, we received the most beautiful quilt from my friend (and customer) Kimberly Z. Sierra ADORES her quilt and so do I. She sleeps with it every night. I really appreciate that Kimberly took the time to find fabrics to match Sierra's room colors. It even has princesses, which Sierra loves right now! Kimberly shared a part of her heart with us by using her quilting talents and creating something hand-made. A gift from the heart is always very special! Thanks again, Kimberly.
Although I can sew a straight line, repair the occasional missing button, and mend a hole, that is the extent of my current sewing skills. I really admire you ladies out there who can work wonders with fabric using a sewing machine and thread!
However, I have something to share with you that may make your quilting life easier! Let me introduce you to The Big Shot die cutting system. "Ladies, this is the Big Shot." "Big Shot, this is the ladies!"
Here is a beautiful quilt square using the Big Shot machine, 5-Point 3D Star Bigz die, Scallop Circle #2 Bigz die, some fabric and a sewing machine.
I have the instructions to make this quilt square. Would you like them? Well, here they are!
Please leave a comment about your fabric and quilting experiences and/or what projects you want to see ME creating with the Big Shot and some fabric. (Thanking me for my wonderful generosity is optional!)
You can use these kits for more than making cards.
I recently purchase the kit shown below to make 12x12 scrapbook pages. I'll be featuring it at my next hostess club on March 25. Head on over to my Facebook Fan page to see some examples using this kit.

We had Family Movie Night at the Thompson household last night. We watched UP. Just in time for the Academy Awards tonight. I was so excited when UP won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film of the Year.
What a fun, fun film! I laughed out loud many times. Sierra even laughed at the appropriate times during most of the funny scenes. She thought it was cool that the boy in the movie had the same name as her Daddy! (She's actually been saying "cool beans" lately. Yes, I am a child of the 80's, but I swear I don't say "cool beans' but maybe once a week!!!)
Here is my rendition of Mr. Carl Fredricksen's house and tribute to his wonderful adventure. I think it can be used as a congratulations card for Retirement, New Baby, New Job, new anything really.
[above] Let the Fun Begin stamp set, Welcome Neighbor designer paper pack (Sale-a-bration), Bold Brights card stock, Bermuda Bay card stock, Wide Oval punch, Scallop Oval punch, Small Heart punch, (2) Two Step Bird punch, Yoyo Yellow marker, Bermuda Bay marker, Real Red marker, Dotto, scissors, White gel pen, ruler
This was such a fun, fun card to make. Feel free to leave me a comment!
If you live in the Dallas area and would like to take the
opportunity to see this card up close at a class or workshop, view my calendar
of events and give me a call to register!
The Us Census Bureau was formed on this day in 1902. Census Day in the US is April 1, 2010, but your letter is mailing now and should arrive sometime this month. You cannot fill it out online; it must be mailed in. I don't remember the Census in 2000. It was 10 years ago and I've slept since then. ;-)
Here is a card I made commemorating the US Census Bureau.

[above] I used the Extra Large Fancy Flower punch to sponge the clouds.
[above] I made a stencil by punching the flower. I then sponged around the edges in Bermuda Bay ink.
[above] I used the Small Heart punch to make the 3 birds.
[above] Punch a heart using Crushed Curry card stock and set aside to use in another project. It will not be used here.
[above] Reinsert the punched scrap into the Small Heart punch as shown above. Punch. Repeat for 2 more birds.
[above] Use Dotto to adhere to your card. Clusters of odd numbers, such as 3, are very pleasing to the eyes.
[above] Here's the card again.
I used the Welcome Neighbor designer series paper pack, which is a free item with a $50 Sale-a-bration purchase. This design already has a row of houses and trees. I just had to color coordinate the clouds and birds. Simple and fun card to make!
Beginning Monday, because of new FTC rules in the
United States, he will no longer be able to offer free trials for the
Business Stampers Coaching Group (BSCG).
On Monday, he'll be switching over to a low-cost paid trial before full
Membership.
What's included in BSCG?
What isn't?
I have access to so much information, support, and answers to my business questions, I'm not sure why I didn't join earlier!
I have a difficult time deciding what is may favorite part? The daily motivational messages and challenges and how to 's, the low cost (only $19.95/month), the newsletter co-op, the monthly conference call, discounts on other services, or the message board itself.
If you'd like to take advantage of the 7 day free trial, you have until Monday,
March 8 to sign up.
This means if you are a Stampin' Up! demonstrator in any part of the world (Canada, United States, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, United Kingdom) who is reading Sisterhood of the Traveling Stamps and wants more detailed information, or wants to sign up for the BSCG, click the image below.
(If you are a US demonstrator on my Live, Laugh, Love, Stamp! team you can have a 30 day free trial. Not a US demo yet? Visit my SU! website and click Join Now on the left hand side. My recruiter password is ut96grad.)
For the most saturated colors, watercolor with Stampin' Write Markers.
[above] I sent this Thank You note to the Polish Art Center in Michigan for replacing Sierra's broken Matryoshka doll.

March 2, 1904 Theodor Seuss Geisel was born. He was an American writer and cartoonist most widely known for his children's books written under the pen name Dr. Seuss.
Here is my card honoring this great American author. I used the BIg Shot and punches, along with Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.
We don't own The Cat in the Hat yet, so we read Horton Hatches the Egg at bedtime tonight. Sierra practices saying elephant correctly. She usually says ephelant, so she is very proud when she says elephant. "I said it Mommy, I said it!"
By the way, more Dr. Suess information can be found at www.suessville.com.
