Yesterday was National Wear Red Day. Thousands of Americans wore red to draw attention to this startling fact:
Over 430,000 women die each year from cardiovascular disease – and most of these deaths are preventable.
Whether it's donating to support research, visiting your healthcare provider annually, eating a healthier diet, REDUCING SODIUM INTAKE!!!, increasing your exercise, practicing preventative health, learning stress-reducing teachniques, purchasing products that support the cause, becoming an advocate for women's health, or wearing red, you can Make It Your Mission to fight heart disease.
Take a moment to think about heart disease - it is still the No. 1 killer of women, taking the life of 1 in 3 women. This means women just like you - mothers, sisters, friends - are dying at the rate of one per minute. In fact, in the time it takes to read this, another woman will die from heart disease.
This National Wear Red Day®, join our mission to ensure we never have to deny research that could save a woman's life. Help raise the funds needed for lifesaving educational programs and the development of new treatments to fight heart disease.
I’m writing because heart disease runs on my dad's side of the family. Two of his uncles died in their 50's due to heart attacks. Read the rest of my personal connection to heart disease here.
I hope you’ll paper craft or digitally design something red during the month of February and year round to honor those women – and that you’ll help fund the research and programs that can save them.

Today I want to share some samples using Day of Gratitude. We made the top 4 cards at the Ft. Worth Region Seminar Training. The 5th card is a Christmas card idea using this very versatile stamp set. Day of Gratitude has become one of my favorite stamp sets!
Please notice that the Thanksgiving cards all have Cherry Cobbler ink. I accidentally grabbed Cherry Cobbler instead of Cajun Craze when making my samples. [I was a Make and Take helper for Stampin' Up! so I had to make my samples at home a week before the training.] It was a happy accident, because I think Cherry Cobbler adds richness to the projects, instead of tone-on-tone or watermark look that Cajun Craze would have. Grab both colors, give them a try, and you decide!
