Sending Packages to Our Military Heros...Holiday Deadlines are Soon Approaching

The recommended mailing date for the most economical postage [Parcel Post] to overseas military destinations, including Iraq and Afghanistan, is Nov. 12, the day after Veterans Day.

However, if you choose to send Priority Mail, the deadline is December 3 or December 10, depending on the APO/FPO zip code. From www.usps.com "Mail sent to overseas military addresses is charged only domestic mail prices. The domestic mail price for the Priority Mail Large Flat Rate Box is $14.50, but for packages to APO/FPO addresses overseas the price is reduced to $12.50. Additional discounts are available for customers printing their Priority Mail postage labels online at Click-N-Ship."

Did you know? This time of year you can send old or left over decorations so some of the commading officers can decorate for the Troops and bring them a piece of home while they are away during the holidays. How touching!

Don't forget you can send packages to our military heroes year round too!!! So if your holidays are hectic, send a package in January, Ferurary, or March 2011.

Day of Gratitude Samples...includes Thanksgiving and Christmas

Today I want to share some samples using Day of Gratitude. We made the top 4 cards at the Ft. Worth Region Seminar Training. The 5th card is a Christmas card idea using this very versatile stamp set. Day of Gratitude has become one of my favorite stamp sets!

Please notice that the Thanksgiving cards all have Cherry Cobbler ink. I accidentally grabbed Cherry Cobbler instead of Cajun Craze when making my samples. [I was a Make and Take helper for Stampin' Up! so I had to make my samples at home a week before the training.] It was a happy accident, because I think Cherry Cobbler adds richness to the projects, instead of tone-on-tone or watermark look that Cajun Craze would have. Grab both colors, give them a try, and you decide!

"You've Been Boo'ed" a Neighborhood Friendship Game - Part 2

Scrapbook Club Layouts Using Autumn Traditions Paper from Stampin' Up!

Here is one of the two layouts we did at this month's Scrapbook Club.

We meet on Thursday nights after 6:45pm and make two 12x12 layouts that I design with the chosen paper or scrapbook kit for the month. There is a minimum order purchase of $30 to get the class for free. We meet for 6 months.

NEW for 2010:

If you are unable to attend and still would like to make the layouts or get inspiration from the layouts, I will make video tutorials available to you to help you complete your pages at home. How cool is that? Club members will also receive additional scrapbook layouts on-line to also complete at home.

 

If you look closely (or click on the picture to enlarge it) please note that I have sticky notes on the pages to indicate the sizes of card stock. This helps you get your pages done more efficiently! Of course I remove these sticky notes before I slide my pages into my 12x12 album.
